एक स्वस्थ पारिस्थितिक तंत्र के लिए मधुमक्खी पालन

कई बार हम जीवन मे कुछ ऐसी घटनाओं से रूबरू होते है जो हमारे जीवन मे अनिश्चिता का भाव पैदा कर देती है। वैसे भी मानव जीवन सदा से ही अनिश्चिताओं से भरा रहता है। ये घटनाएँ या परिस्थितियाँ कई बार हमारे जीवन की दिशा को बदल देती हैं। ये सारी घटनाएँ हमे कुछ न कुछ सीख दे जाती है, कुछ अनुभव दे जाती है। पर इसके लिए जरूरी है की हम उन घटनाओ को गौर से देखे और उनसे उत्पन्न होने वाली परिस्थितियों मे आत्मवलोकन करे और उनसे खुले मन से कुछ सीखने की इच्छा रखे।

यह तभी हो सकता है जब हम अपने जीवन का नेतृत्व स्वयं करे और सही और गलत से परे जाकर उन अनुभवों का सामना करे। क्या पता कब, कौन सा अनुभव हमारे जीवन की दिशा ही बादल दे, हमारे जीवन को एक नया मकसद दे जाए।

ऐसी ही एक घटना का अनुभव हमारे अगले परिंदे को कुछ वर्ष पहले हुआ था जिसने उनके जीवन की दिशा बदल दी । उस मोड़ पर जब उन्होने आत्मवलोकन किया तब उन्हे अपने जीवन का मकसद मिल गया।

वहाँ जब उन्होने मधुमक्खी पालन का काम होते हुए देखा तब उनकी जिज्ञासा और बढ़ गयी और इसके माध्यम से उन्हे मधुमक्खियों को बचाने का एक रास्ता दिखने लगा। पुणे आकार उन्होने इस पर और शोध किया और फिर उन्होने अपनी नौकरी छोड़कर मधुमक्खी पालन के बारे मे और जानने के लिए महाबलेश्वर और पुणे मे ट्रेनिंग प्राप्त करी और फिर निकल गए मधुमक्खियों को बचाने के अपने मिशन पर। जैसे-जैसे वे इस काम को करते गए वो समझते गए की मधुमक्खियों का मानव जीवन के लिए क्या महत्व है।

वे बताते है कि “वैज्ञानिकों द्वारा किए गए विभिन्न अध्ययनों मे यह बात खुलकर सामने आई है कि खेतों मे किसानों द्वारा किए जा रहे कीटनाशकों के छिड़काव के कारण मधुमक्खियों की प्रजाति पर बहुत बड़ा खतरा मंडरा रहा है। He said that, Bees feed on pollen and nectar produced by plants. Female bees collect pollen to feed their larvae, storing it in pollen baskets in their legs or on branched hairs on their body. As they go from flower to flower they inevitably lose some of the pollen they have collected. Some of this pollen may land on the female parts of other flowers of the same species, resulting in cross-pollination. Just as much as bees have a role in ensuring the survival of humanity, we also have a role in ensuring their survival. This way, we can ensure that the symbiotic relationship we have with bees will endure for many more generations. All elements of an ecosystem are important to the functioning of that ecosystem. It may be positive or negative, from a human standpoint, but we cannot look at nature from a human standpoint only.

“Why?” I ask.

“Well, ecosystems are complex, possibly too complex for us to be able to understand all the connections, actions and interactions that take place within them. If we do not know what will happen if we change something, it makes no sense to rush and make those changes,” he explains.

Albert Einstein had once said, “If the bees disappeared off the surface of the globe, then mankind would only have four years of life left. No more bees, no more pollination, no more plants, no more animals, no more man.”

I had several questions for Ghodse: How many bee hives does he breed? What costs him the most as a bee keeper? How does he sustain himself?

“The question is not how many hives but the proper management of honeybee. You need a suitable location for honey production and consequent pollination. After these steps are taken care of, you have to rely on Mother Nature to work in your favour. After all of these stages are accomplished, you must the hope that the bees are not poisoned by the crop farmers, who trying to make a living for themselves. But, there are a lot of people who’re making a sustainable living from beekeeping, and are making enough to hire an entire team to work for them. And yes, I am able to sustain myself as well,” he says.

For those who’re interested in becoming beekeepers, Godse suggests that they should first learn and work under an established beekeeper before going independent.
